Sinbad And The Eye Of The Tiger (1977) is a fantasy film directed by Sam Wanamaker which featuring special effects created by animator Ray Harryhausen who also cowrote the screenplay with Bevereley Cross. 

DADDY: What did you think of the movie? 

LILLY: I thought it was better than the last one.

DADDY: Really, why?

LILLY:  Because I liked the bit where the evil witch turned back into herself and she had half a birds foot. She would be able to swim better.

DADDY: I think I prefer The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad (1973) but this is still a great movie.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY:  I liked the princess.

DADDY: I met Jane Seymour once when I worked in the theatre.

Lilly: You worked in the theatre?

DADDY: Yes I was a stage hand and helped build the set for a play she starred in called Jane Eyre. 
I liked Melanthius played by Patrick Troughton.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: I already said it.

DADDY: You did. I like that bit too and the fight with the demons.

LILLY: Yeah it was cool.

DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it was awesome!

DADDY: I saw this...

LILLY: ...at the cinema.

LILLY: I'm giving this ten stars.

DADDY: Me too.

The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad (1973)



The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad (1973) is a fantasy film directed by Gordon Hessler which features special effects created by legendary animator Ray Harryhausen who also cowrote the screenplay with Brian Clemens. 

DADDY: What did you think of the movie? 

LILLY:  I thought it was spectacular because it was special.

DADDY: I thought so too. It was one of my favorite movies when I was your age and it still is.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY:  This is so hard.

DADDY: Who did you like?

Lilly: The girl because I liked when they climb out of the temple and she goes second.

DADDY: She (Caroline Munro) was beautiful too.

LILLY: Yeah.

DADDY: I like the evil Koura played by another of my favourite actors Tom Baker.

LILLY: I liked him too.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: I liked the bit where the six armed statute fights Sinbad.

DADDY: It is one of my favourite movie scenes of all time.

DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is barely scary.

DADDY: It is very exciting though.

LILLY: Yes.

LILLY: I'm giving it ten stars

DADDY: I'm giving it ten too but I could easily give it more because I love this film so much.

DADDY: I met Ray Harryhausen once who animated the monsters.

LILLY: One of my favourite things about the movie.

DADDY: We will have to watch some more of his movies then.

LILLY: Of course!!!

Legend (1985)



Legend (1985) is a dark fantasy film directed by Ridley Scott and written by William Hjortsberg. The Lord of Darkness seeks to bring about eternal darkness by having the last two remaining unicorns killed.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie? 

LILLY: It was wonderful.

DADDY: I thought it was magical and looked amazing.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: I like princess Lili the best because she has my name. 

DADDY: But she started all the trouble.

Lilly: She didn't know. I think it was Jack's fault for letting her see the unicorns.

DADDY: A fair point what was he thinking?

DADDY: I liked The Lord of Darkness because he looked awesome and I felt his pain.

LILLY: Whaaaaat?

DADDY: I like monsters.

LILLY: Oh yeah...

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When The Lord of Darkness was trying to be nice to Lili but couldn't.

DADDY: That's because he is a monster. He tried his best though.

LILLY: He did.

DADDY: I thought that was funny and it was my favourite moment too.

LILLY: Yeah.

DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is a great movie and the princess has my name.

DADDY: It is a great film.

LILLY: I'm giving it five stars.

DADDY: Me too.

DADDY: The director Ridley Scott has made some of daddy's favourite movies.

LILLY: Can I see them?

DADDY & LILLY: When you are older.

Ladyhawke (1985)



Ladyhawke (1985) is a fantasy film directed by Richard Donner from a story by Edward Khmara. Two cursed lovers are aided by a reluctant thief known as "The Mouse".

DADDY: What did you think of the movie? 

LILLY: It was exciting.

DADDY: I thought so too, it is a classic 80's fantasy movie. Did you like it more than Willow (1988)?

LILLY: No I didn't. Did you?

DADDY: Of course not.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: I liked Ladyhawke because she was a hawk and a lady.

DADDY: She (Michelle Pfeiffer) was beautiful too. 

LILLY: Yes.

DADDY: I liked "The Mouse", I thought he was very funny when he spoke to god.

LILLY: He was funny when he spoke to god.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When Ladyhawke and Etienne were both human again.

DADDY: It was very romantic.

LILLY: Yes.

DADDY: I liked the sword fight in the cathedral.

LILLY: I liked that too because the people didn't know what was going on.

DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it wasn't scary, mostly.

DADDY: I think it is a fun film. Did you know it was made by the same person who directed The Goonies (1985)?

LILLY: No.

DADDY: We should review that film.

LILLY: Yes and we have it too!

LILLY: I'm giving this five stars.

DADDY: I'm giving it four and a half.

LILLY: Dad!


Willow (1988)





Willow (1988) is a fantasy film directed by Ron Howard from a story by George Lucas. A reluctant little hero saves a special baby from an evil queen.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie? 

LILLY: I thought it was very impressive and a wonderful movie.

DADDY: I thought it was amazing and even better than when I first saw it. It is one of my favourite fantasy films.

LILLY: Me too.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: The brownies because I liked the bit when one brownie fell in beer and shouted "beer!"

DADDY: I liked them too and Madmartigan because he is such a lovable rogue.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When a brownie was under a spell and he fell in love with a cat.

DADDY: He meant to use the magic on a lady in the pub.

LILLY: Yes! I also liked the bit when a brownie took off his hat and he had no hair under his mouse hat.

DADDY: Yes that was very funny.

DADDY: I liked the sleigh ride on the shield. I have always wanted to do that.

DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it was amazing and exciting.

DADDY: It is a great film.

LILLY: I agree.

LILLY: I'm giving twenty stars.

DADDY: Me too it probably deserves more.

LILLY: Yes.

Hotel Transylvania (2012)



Hotel Transylvania (2012) is a computer animated comedy directed by Grenndy Tartakovsky and written by David I. Stern.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie? 

LILLY: It was fabulous, I liked the bit when Frankenstein said thank you to the monster nerds.

DADDY: I liked it too being a monster nerd myself.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: I liked the normal guy, because his music sounded awesome.

DADDY: I liked most of the characters but I loved Frankenstein's monster

LILLY: Frankenstein!

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When the monsters dress up as humans.

DADDY: When the zombies pretend to be villagers to scare Dracula's daughter?

LILLY: Yeah.

DADDY: I liked the bit when the monster nerds help Dracula.

LILLY: Which bit?

DADDY: When they use their capes to shade Dracula from the sun.

LILLY: Oh yes.

DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is not scary at all but it was funny.

LILLY: I'm giving it twenty stars.

DADDY: I'm giving it eighteen then because it wasn't perfect.

LILLY: Yes it was perfect!

DADDY: I'm a monster nerd, are you too?

LILLY: Not really.

DADDY: You said you were half of one last night.

LILLY: That was yesterday dad!
