The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014)



The hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) is a science fiction war film and the third film in a quadrilgy based upon the books by Suzanne Collins. It was directed by Francis Lawrence with a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong. The twice victor of the Hunger Games becomes a political figurehead for the political opposition.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY:  loved it because the revolution began and that they split it into two movies.

DADDY: I was very bored because without the game I thought the film lacked any substance.

LILLY: I disagree, it had lots of substance, there was fighting and it was exciting.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: My favourite character would be  Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence)  because she actually played an important role and the others didn't really.

DADDY: So you didn't really think it was exciting?

LILLY: There was a bit too much talking and not a lot happened, but I still loved it!

DADDY: I liked President Snow (Donald Sutherland) because he stole the show and he was charismatically evil with a twinkle in his eye.

LILLY: The evil president rather than the other evil president wanabee?

DADDY: Yes!

 DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When they caused chaos in the city on the bridge and she sang the
Hanging Tree Song.

DADDY: Yes that was the best bit.

LILLY: Are you only saying that because you couldn't think of a favourite bit?

DADDY: No it pulled at my Dark heart strings a little...

LILLY: I do not believe you!

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: No because it was actually boring and should have been one film.

DADDY:Which you wanted to like but didn't really.

LILLY: I missed the game, it was not the Hunger Games without the game!

DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: I think I will give it 15.

DADDY:Five for me. I need to show you you Rollerball (1975).

LILLY: What is that?

Daddy: I will show you one day.

Fantastic Four (2005)



Fantastic Four (2005) is a superhero fantasy film directed by directed by Tim Story and written by Michael France and Mark Frost based upon the Marvel team of the same name. A group of scientists investigate a cloud of comic energy with uncanny results.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: I thought it was an exciting adventure because I didn't know what would happen next.

DADDY: I grew up reading the Fantastic Four comics and I still enjoyed the film knowing what would happen next.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: Mine is The Thing (Michael Chiklis) because he reminded me of you..

DADDY: I like him too and it isn't easy being a monster.

LILLY: Rolls eyes.

DADDY: I liked him because he could have become normal again but gave up that chance to save his friends.

LILLY: I would have stayed normal.

 DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When they caused chaos in the city on the bridge.

DADDY: Yeah that is spectacular!.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it's an amazing film which everyone should see.
 
DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: Forty, I loved it all and wouldn't take anything out.

DADDY: The same for me then. It's clobbering time!

LILLY: Rolls eyes again.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)



Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) is a superhero fantasy film directed by James Gunn and writen by him and Nicole Perlman. A ragtag group of unlikely heros become the defenders of the galaxy.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: It was fantastic.

DADDY: It was so much fun and I loved it.

LILLY: Me too.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: That's really tricky because I liked them all.

DADDY: Me too, they were all great.

LILLY: I agree.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: My favourite moment would be when Groot (Vin Diesel) gave his life for all their lives. We are Groot!

DADDY: Mine too but I think he might grow back.

LILLY: I hope so and I can't wait for the next movie.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it's the best film ever.

DADDY: I loved the music too. This is my favourite film for a long time.

LILLY: Until the sequel.
 
DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: One hundred and four. I really, really, really liked it.

DADDY: The same for me and I must get the Awesome Mix Vol, 1 for the Spookmobile.

LILLY: I want to hear it when you pick me up from school.

DADDY: Loud and proud.

LILLY: LOL

The Last Starfighter (1984)


The Last Starfighter (1984) is a science fiction film directed by Nick Castle and written by Jonathan R. Betuel. A teenager who lives in a trailer park and plays videogames as a distraction is unwittingly recruited to join the elite defence force of the Rylan Star League. It was along with Tron (1982) one of the first films to make extensive use of computer graphics for it's special effects.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: It was amazing.

DADDY: It's a classic 80s movie.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: Alex (Lance Guest) because he didn't give up.

DADDY: He is another reluctant hero who comes through in the end. 

LILLY: Yeah.

DADDY: I likedhis alien navigator Grig (Dan O'Herlihy) and Centauri (Robert Preston).

LILLY: They were awesome too.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When they had the big space battle because it was fun to watch and I thought they would die because they didn't haave a plan.

DADDY: They were outnumbered but brave. I liked the bit when Grig and Alex showed each other family photos and Grig had hundreds.

LILLY: That was quite funny.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it's awesome and a great movie to watch with family and friends.

DADDY: I think so too..
 
DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: I'm giving this one twenty five.

DADDY: The same for me. I was quite good at arcade games when I was a kid but I was never asked to join the Rylan Star League.

LILLY: LOL.

Dragonslayer (1981)

Dragonslayer (1981) is a fantasy film directed by Mathew Robbins and written by him and Hal Barwood. A young apprentice wizard is sent on a quest to slay the last dragon Vermthrax Pejorative.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: It is brilliant.

DADDY: I know and I loved the dragon

LILLY: Me too.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: I liked the priest who made out that God had killed the dragon.

DADDY: The king said he did it too.

LILLY: I know but it was funnier when the priest did it.

DADDY: I liked the old wizard Ulrich (Ralph Richardson) because he knew everything.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When the priest said God killed the dragon and  the king said he did it.

DADDY: I think that says you cannot trust them.

LILLY: I agree.

DADDY: I liked the bit when the apprentice Galen (Peter MacNicol) fights the dragon because it is awesome.

LILLY: That's good but not the best bit.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is awesome and educational.

DADDY: I think so too..
 
DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: I'm giving this one thirty five because I love it.

DADDY: Thirty five from me too then..

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) is a musical stop motion fantasy film directed by Henry Selick and produced/co-written by Tim Burton.
The King of Halloween Town Jack Skellington has grown bored of the same yearly routine and decides to have a go at being Father Christmas.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: It's a fantastic and wonderful film.

DADDY:Yes it's an old favourite of ours isn't it?

LILLY: I love it a lot and it is a good film to celebrate the second anniversary of the blog.

DADDY: I agree.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: Doctor Finklestein (William Hickey) because he is evil and creepy like you.

DADDY: I like him too, he's a genius.

LILLY:With a capital G.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY:When they send Santa (Ed Ivory) to Oogie Boogie (Ken Page). I love the things he does.

DADDY:I like the bit when Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon) discovers Christmas land.

LILLY:That's an awesome moment too.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes I would recommend it for everyone because it is so awesome.

DADDY: Me too.
 
DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY:Thirty,

DADDY: At least thirty.

Little Shop of Horrors (1986)

Little Shop of Horrors (1986) is a comedy horror musical based upon the stage musical of the same name which was itself an adaptation of the Roger Corman film Little Shop of Horrors (1960). It was directed by Frank Oz with a screenplay by Howard Ashman. A struggling florist finds success when he discovers an alien carnivourous plant in this Faustian tale

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: It was awesome.

DADDY: I like it a lot too.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: It was the plant Audrey II (Levi Stubbs), I liked how he drank blood and killed people. He was a killing machine

DADDY: He does steal the movie and he is a great singer too.

LILLY: Yeah, I agree.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: Probably the bit when the dentist (Steve Martin) sings his song.

DADDY: Me too, it's great and very funny.

LILLY: Yes.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is wonderful and I love that it has songs and it is also a bit scary. I could watch it again and again.
 
DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: Forty, best movie ever!

DADDY: One of the best, forty for me too.

LILLY: Does uncle Victor have an Audrey II?

DADDY: He does have a lot of carnivorous plants but I don't think he has one of them yet.

LILLY: Shame.

Maleficent (2014)

Maleficent (2014) is a Disney fantasy film directed by Robert Stromberg with a screenplay by Linda Woolverton. It is a live-action re-imagening of Disney's animated classic movie Sleeping Beauty (1959).

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: I thought it was magnificent.

DADDY: I was a bit bored.

LILLY: You snored through the movie, at least you didn't do that watching Twilight (2008).

DADDY: Well call me old fashioned but I like my villains to be evil.

LILLY: Really?

DADDY:Yep.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) because she was evil but became good through the power of love.

DADDY: I liked the raven (Sam Riley) because he was quite funny. 

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: When the good faries try to feed the baby princess carrots.

DADDY: I liked the bit with the dragon. I like dragons and that woke me up.

LILLY: LOL.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is wonderful movie and great whatever you think and everyone should see it.
 
DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: Thirty five.

DADDY: Only ten for me, I have seen worse movies and I had a nice little snooze.

The Producers (1968)

The Producers (1968) is a comedy film written and directed by Mel Brooks. A washed up theatrical producer convinces his accountant to help him over sell his next play in order to profit from it's failure

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: I thought it was awesome, wonderful and very funny.

DADDY: It it a triumph!

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: My favourite character is Leo (Gene Wilder) because he is so funny.

DADDY: He played Willy Wonka too.

LILLY: Really?

DADDY: Yes. I'm torn between him and Max Bialystock (Zero Mostel).

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: The show, all of it.

LILLY and DADDY: Spring time for Hitler and Germany Winter for Poland and France!

DADDY: I think that is one of my all time favourite movie moments.

LILLY: Me too.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is wonderful and very funny.

DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: A hundred.

DADDY: Sounds reasonable to me. You know it is wrong to con money from old ladies?

LILLY: Yes.

DADDY: Even when your scheme is very funny.

LILLY: LOL

Scooby-Doo (2002)

Scooby-Doo (2002) is a comedy horror film based upon the Hanna-Barbera cartoon television series. It was directed by Raja Gosnell with a screenplay by James Gunn.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: It was amazing.

DADDY: I like it too. How many times have you seen it already?

LILLY: A thousand and two.

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: I like Scooby (voiced by Neil Fanning) because he is cute and funny..

DADDY: I like Shaggy (Mathew Lillard).

LILLY: Really?

DADDY: Yes because despite being a coward he do will anything to save Scooby.

LILLY: Or a sandwich.

DADDY: Yes and I can relate to that.

LILLY: LOL.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: It would have to be the farting competition.

DADDY: Me too, it is inspirational.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes!.

DADDY: How many stars would you give it?

LILLY: I'm giving it twenty five.

DADDY: I wish there really was a Spooky Island.

LILLY: Me too!
